SHIBALBA, DARJA KAZIMIRA & DAGMAR GERTOT - Dark Water Groan, DigiCD
SHIBALBA's music is saturated with Eastern mysticism, richly detailed and multidimensional, layered with chanting and elements of traditional ritual and shamanic music. In addition to contemporary synths and guitar drones, the band uses unique instruments such as bones and skulls as percussion, Tibetan horns, Tibetan singing bowls, bone and horn trumpets, as well as ceremonial bells and gongs.
DARJA KAZIMIRA and DAGMAR GERTOT form a collaborative project between two musicians and artists, whose main goal is to study, deconstruct, and interpret the funeral and initiation rituals of cultures worldwide. The project focuses exclusively on improvisation within a framework of ritual music, emphasizing specific bodily, auditory, and textual practices that guide listeners toward a threshold state—where sleep, delirium, myth, and reality converge.
